Homemade Healthier Ranch Dip and Dressing*
 
 
When you want a comforting snack or a rich dressing, serve this ranch dip/ dressing as a tasty alternative to high fat dips and dressings. Kids love it and you can sneak extra nutrition in with the added herbs and yogurt. Great served with assorted crudités (raw cut up veggies.)

Ingredients
  • ⅓ cup nonfat or low fat plain organic Greek style yogurt
  • ⅓ cup low fat (not fat free) buttermilk, preferably organic
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise or Vegenaise
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon lower sodium tamari or soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • cayenne pepper, pinch
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh flat leaf parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh basil, finely chopped
  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine Greek-style yogurt and the rest of the ingredients, adding salt and pepper to taste. Store in an airtight container and chill until ready to serve. Delicious as a salad dressing or a dip.
